Donna Jean Whitaker
is a singer, songwriter, musician with a bounty of songs expressed over

Donna’s lifelong interest in personal
growth and spiritual discovery is revealed through introspective, soothing, yet upbeat
songs telling of feelings,
questions,
resolves, love, and stories of
hopes and dreams.
During the early 70’s, Donna was a
regular performer at the Hootenanny Coffee house in Miami, Florida. In 1976, Donna
Jean and Country Torch, played in Sonoma County, California, opened for "Asleep at the
Wheel" and appeared on Kate Wolf’s radio show. Bay Area Magazine, BAM, in an article
in September of that year says: "best known country blues bands in Sonoma County",
and "there is a touch of positivity in all her songs that says you can lift up your
life by getting off the bar stool and doing something else-and that's pretty enlightened for
country music". In 1978, she won the "Most Meaningful
Songwriters contest held in Los Angeles, created and hosted by Peter Yarrow of Peter,
Paul and Mary. Donna produced Live: Country
Collection album in 1976, Lift Me Up in 1986, Inside Out
in 2000, Prodigal
Daughter in 2001, Edge
of Paradise in
2004, Holding Diego in April
2005, and released in October 2005, Bright
Red Sunset.
